However, assuming that the only sign of a spider infestation is the presence of webs is a misconception. Take note that the primary reason why spiders spin their webs is to set a trap for their prey. Thus, you may not see any webs in your home, but this could mean that the spiders are getting an easy dinner from unsuspecting insects that cross their path. Cracks in your walls
Spiders will always look for a safe and secure spot to breed in, which will typically be in the form of cracks and crevices in your walls. A good place to start your inspection would be on your exterior walls, as the spiders could be gaining access through any cracks present. Additionally, inspect the interior walls of your home, as the spiders could have made these their home and even started to lay their egg sacs inside them. If you do have cracks in your walls but they are yet to be infested by spiders, a preventative measure to take would be to caulk them before your house becomes vulnerable to an infestation.
Moist areas
Another favourite spot for siders is anywhere that provides them with an abundant source of water. Moisture is critical for spiders, as this is what will keep their bodies hydrated. Therefore, it is also not surprising that some of these moist places could become a potential breeding ground for spiders. The first thing to do would be to ensure that you do not have any undetected leaks in your home because the longer the leak goes unhampered, the higher the chances that spiders will eventually call that area home. Secondly, inspect areas of your home that could be at risk of water ingress, such as the basement. Any signs of egg sacs or spider webs should have you calling an exterminator.

Spiders may have garnered a fearsome reputation, but in truth, these insects are recluses. Spiders will typically seek out areas where they are likely to remain undisturbed, so they will commonly build their nests in parts of your home that are infrequently used.
